Welcome to Bayou Blossoms Montessori

The Natural Child

At Bayou Blossoms, we believe that every child is a natural learner. Our authentic Montessori approach creates a prepared environment where children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Montessori Education for the 3- to 6-year-old

Our primary program builds upon natural curiosity, offering rich learning experiences in language, mathematics, cultural studies, and practical life skills within a peaceful, mixed-age classroom. Children enjoy uninterrupted work time, individualized learning, and freedom of movement.

Nature-Based Education

Featuring a focus on nature and the natural world around us, our curriculum is designed to incorporate learning within the context of the ecosystem in which we thrive. We cultivate ecological consciousness through sustainable practices, healthy nutrition, and an understanding of humanity’s connection to the natural world.

Facilities

Our beautiful school environment provides a warm, welcoming space designed specifically for hands-on Montessori learning. From our carefully curated learning materials to our nurturing classroom environment, every detail supports your child’s growth.

Home & Equity

We build strong connections between school and family life, honoring the wisdom of families and creating a unified learning community. Our intentionally diverse environment promotes empathy, cultural understanding, and cognitive growth for all children.

Meet Our Teachers

Gabrielle Tyree

Gabrielle is a proud Houston native, born and raised in the Southeast’s Golfcrest/Reveille neighborhood. With over 13 years of experience in education, her journey has been grounded in a deep love for learning and a commitment to making quality education accessible to all children.

Gabrielle’s educational journey began with several years as an assistant teacher to young learners between the ages of 12 months and 4 years old. These formative experiences revealed that even the smallest learners possess remarkable potential for independence; a philosophy that would become the foundation of her teaching approach. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in Teaching and Learning from the University of Houston and her Texas teaching certification for grades K–6, then spent seven years in the public school system.
Drawn to child-led pedagogy, she deepened her expertise by completing her Montessori I–II certification for elementary ages 6–12. During her interim years homeschooling her own children, she developed Bayou Blossoms Montessori, bringing together her passion for individualized, child-centered education and nature-based learning.

Her teaching path has encompassed early childhood, elementary STEM, school gardening, and Montessori & nature-based learning. She has dedicated years to bringing hands-on, garden-based education into schools, helping children connect meaningfully with the natural world. As a certified social-emotional learning facilitator and yoga teacher, she believes that nurturing the whole child means supporting their minds, hearts, and bodies.

When she’s not working with children or designing innovative learning experiences, Gabrielle enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, gardening, and baking.
